You certainly can't barter with them if that is what you mean. There are guidelines as to what, if any, discounts can apply. What I am suggesting is that you can buy what you want and if sales tells you that no discount is possible then you could return some of the purchases so there would be no loss to you. Not the best suggestion but it will only cost you time and effort instead of money.

This is Memorial day. Our celebration and remembrance of when the best sales were presented to us at the mall..... no wait that isn't right.

I mean Memorial day is when we honor fallen service men and women. It means that most places of work (save for the big retail places which are all having sales) have Monday off and Stardock is no exception. I will still be around randomly to kick around.

Zubaz,

1. Great! Nice to hear that it won't break my piggy bank to re-up.

2. But still no idea when our first theme will arrive?

3. Not even a hint?

I purchased Object Desktop 08 and so far, I've only been able to activate WindowBlinds 6. I'm using offline activation because I am in Iraq and have no way to go online. I've copied the appropriate code into a sig6.bin file which successfully activated WindowBlinds 6 but my other programs aren't responding to it.

Email support@stardock.com

. . . . . And be safe.
on Jun 07, 2008
Well that's the thing, I've probably talked to 5 different reps from stardock support, and billing, and have YET to get an answer. I'm getting very frustrated. The software should COME with instructions on how to activate each product.

I saved the activation code sig6.bin file to every software directory in the object desktop 08 suite, and so far the only program that successfully activated is WindowBlinds.

And thanks, it is pretty nasty here. The baddies like the summer time.

Only WindowBlinds6 would require the sig.bin file to be named as such. Every other program would require sig.bin.

However each sig.bin would be different per program. This means that each program requires the activation process. Here is what you should do.

Go through these steps:

https://www.stardock.helpserve.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=447&ratingconfirm=1

After that send each activation string to us at support@stardock.com in an email (spaced out) and we (likely ME) will send you back the code for each sig.bin for you. That should get it ironed out.

Thanks, now I just have to put up with the ridiculous wait (it's been 3 days now, and it took over 2 weeks for my first response) to get the reply with my activation codes.... yay. (yak)

That responce should be within minutes. Please forward the code you sent to activate@stardock.com to support@stardock.com so we can manually process it for you.

We updated ODNT Launchpad for ODNT 2008, so it may be something we need to fix in the application itself, not Impulse.

Old thread, recent discovery.DX builder mode crashes on me if launched from the launchpad. It also won't start DX in client mode or load objects 80% of the time.Widgets are ok.There may be a bug there. DX Launches fine from the start menu or a desktop shortcut.I have reported it to milksama,ref.ticket#JWV-607561,for informational purposes. As long as it runs,I'm happy.

Sorry to post to an apparently dead thread, but I just reinstalled ODN2008 after a hiatus of a few months, and I am now needing to have my activation count reset.

I've installed and reinstalled my OS several times in the last year or so, each time installing cleanly. I've always installed on the same machine -- though I did purchase a new box last year, and purchased a Dell laptop this year.

After installing so many times in the last year or so, I can see why my activation count has maxed out by now.

Beside needing my activation count reset, I also need to know whether to lay StarDock Central aside, and move to Impulse, or keep SDC and get rid of Impulse. But I really don't like the name "Impulse". It makes us sound like impulse-driven buyers. I never purchase any product on an impulse, and the name makes us sound like a bunch of ninnies. PLEASE change the name back to "Stardock Central".

Anyway, I've bought so many of Stardock's products I've become quite confused by now. I ask other long-time users of these products, "What are you all doing? Are you running Impulse, or Stardock Central? What does Stardock want us to do? And HOW may I get unconfused after all these years? I have so many licenses for so many stand-alone products, I get discombubulated trying to ascertain WHICH license to use with which product. A column in the email showing my licenses which indicates WHEN the licenses expire would be very helpful. Or change the license key with each NEWER product, rather than keeping the SAME key with each upgrade.

Hopefully, a Stardock person will read this and reset my activation counts? Seems like almost every time I install a product it tells me that my activation counts need to be reset.

I've even tried asking Stardock Sy support to REMOVE any product I no longer have an active license for in the list of keys I always get back. I need badly to CLEAN the list of licenses up. Any help from Stardock on this matter?

I have your count reset! I would recomend Impulse since updates come out on it first however Stardock Central is not retired as of yet so either will work for the moment. Please let me know if you need further help!

Hi,

I just bought Object Desktop 2008. On the Object Desktop Launchpad, there's an option for Enhanced File Dialog. When I click on it, it wants to install and starts Impulse to download it.

The problem is that in Impulse, Enhanced File Dialog is not listed in the My Desktop area so I can install it. How do I get this so I can install it?

Thanks.

Sorry if this was covered and I missed the post. I have ODNT subscription and currently use SDC. How do I upgrade so I have access to all the Ultimate stuff that doesnt currently show in SDC?
on Aug 20, 2008
Simply use Impulse our new downloading system:

http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe

You can run SDC and Impulse at the same time. So if something does not appear in one it may appear in the other. Impulse is currently undergoing major updates and changes right now.
