Please use this thread for IconPackager v4.0 Support Issues
Published on May 13, 2008 By Zargon In IconPackager

All,

With IconPackager v4.0 being released tomorrow, I am creating this thread to house support for the newly released product.

At this time there are no known issues for either 32-bit or 64-bit.

For all of those who have reported and tested issues on 64-bit we thank you for your time and support.

Regards,

Zargon

My icons still break after I have uninstalled IconPackager. It is okay that you want the users to install your apps, but when they choose to remove it, don't leave the system malfunction.

I don't know why you have encountered this issue, I have reverted back to default icons in both Vista and XP prior to uninstalling/re-installing Iconpackager, more than once, and I've not struck it on my rig. Did you revert back to default windows icons prior to uninstalling IP... or after?? If after, you will need to reinstall IP> select default icons> then uninstall IP.

If before, then I'm not too sure what the problem may be; however, you could also try re-installing IP> selecting Windows default icons> and in the Settings tab> select one of the following, 'rebuild icon cache', 'repair shell icons' and 'repair icon images' to see if one these options helps to restore your icons to normal. Hope this helps.

Been there, done that. Nothing helps at this moment. Seems like a bug that occur only to a few, like me
Thanks for the suggestion though

This has probably been mentioned before, but I couldn't find anything about it, and I tried googleing.

For some reason Live Folders on Vista are broken. I had this issue with 3.2, and I thought 4.0 would solve it, but it's still the same.

Long time ago I installed a theme similar to Carbonite only white, so lets call it White. In the meantime I uninstalled it, but live folders were still showing in that style. Later I tried many themes, and IIRC out of all of them only Unity could replace the White theme's live folders, and still not completely as those White icons would creep in here or there. Now I've decided to change my icons to Quest, but live folders are still either Unity or White. Even if I try to change to Default Vista icons, live folders are Unity or White.

Did someone have a similar problem? Is there any way to reset the Live Folders to default ones? A registry setting or something?

Thanks.

I got a wierd problem here with Iconpackager 4.0.165 - only one I can get with sdc

1. I get the activate window nearly all the time -I did a refresh of xml file - that seemed to have helped

2. After applying an iconpackage -I get asked about 2 things

a) different drive setting is on, wanna keep that -yes
explorer handles every window seperatly, wann keep that - yes

After applying the iconpackage I get a lot of explorer.exe errors, one time it started and stoppedm started and stoppen continously.

Whats going on here?

I am on xpsp3 home german

OK. Now something happened that leaves me totally "WTF?!"
[cut]

Edit: False alarm. Problem was with something else. Related, but not important to IP. Sorry for n00bness.

Found a problem in x64 with the Save As dialog window, the icons seem to remain default Aero for the most part:

Using the latest build in Impulse.
The Favorites Pane mostly, when browsing to other locations the icons can also appear as the default Vista set.

Also, the favorites window in the 32bit browser of IE7 has a problem with icons not changing as well (they do change in the 64bit browser though)

i'd really love to see IP4 give us the option to have different icons for individual hdd's. i used to be able to do this with vista and early versions of IP3. can this feature be reinstated into IP4, please?

Hi Snidely, I have IP version 4.00.168 and have to option to assign different icons to each of my drives in the Icons & Cursors tab> Drives> Individual Drive Mode, so I don't know what's happening there...

Could be Stardock looked at your Wizop status and thought you have more than enough to do as it is (without having to fiddle around with even more icons) so left the feature off your copy.

Seriously, tho, I hope you get it sorted soon... cos if you're like me, you don't see text too well these days and like your drives to be more instantly recognisable.
