Please use this thread for IconPackager v4.0 Support Issues
Published on May 13, 2008 By Zargon In IconPackager

All,

With IconPackager v4.0 being released tomorrow, I am creating this thread to house support for the newly released product.

At this time there are no known issues for either 32-bit or 64-bit.

For all of those who have reported and tested issues on 64-bit we thank you for your time and support.

Regards,

Zargon

I just noticed I can change individual icons again without the activation.exe error, and I was able to change my dvd drive icon. :OYeah, isn't it cool to finally not have to reactivate all the time...

That wasn't the problem I was having, just the annoying dialog that activate.exe couldn't be found when I tried to change an icon.

Bebi, cure one thing and everything activation related would appear to be fixed (and apparently is).

If everything has the correct activation, no attempt to run activate.exe will happen from the shell extension, IP or IPE, so no error dialog will show..

What is the current release of IconPackager. I can remember that 168 were the latest when I last checked.

Running IconPackager v4.09[b].003.  Have a .icl package that I want to import into IconPackager.  Followed the basic instructions I could find - run IconDeveloper and save resultant file as .zip for import into IP.  File generates an error of 'no iconpackage was found in file".  Also looked in IconExplorer and didn't see any thing there that appeared to allow a save as an IP package.  What program do you use to obtain a viable IP package?

My Activation says invalid Serial Number. I used the same # for all of the OD apps. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks.

Mindtooth, I guess .168 is the current one, but .09b is the current beta.

II am using Vista 64 bit, and when I go to settings, in the Windows Settings, I can't change the size of my icons from 32 pixels. The dialog box is greyed out.
Having the exact same issue on Vista Ult SP1 32 bit as Psikotik. Downloaded and installed fine just one small thing, the icon resize setting on the settings tab (I know I was surprised by that too !), is greyed out and I cannot change the size.

You will need to contact Stardock to request your current serial numbers... some were apparently changed a while back.

To do this, you can open up SDC or Impulse and click the "request registration details' button..

I can't see IP4 4.09b in SDC ( even with pre-release version)Is it shown only with impulse?Windows xp sp3

Doesn't appear to be in SDC yet.

Probably just an oversight. I'm sure they'll get it showing up there soon.

This is still not showing in SDC. Anyone else seeing it there?

change icon error

When trying to change an icon in windows I get this error message. I can only change icons using icon packager.

I figured it out. I had to copy the activate.exe from the iconpackager program file folder to Documents and Settings\All Users/Application Data\Stardock\Icon Packager and reactive it there. Now I can change icons through windows.

What a pain

That should have been the case in the first place. Thank you for update on this situation. I will follow up.

Does the new beta happen to fix the shell issue in 64-bit?

Astyanax0, most likely (unless it has a separate codebase, which is somewhat unlikely).. as it does the 32bit one.

Nonetheless I'd like to get it verified as the result of installing IP will force me to format should it not work properly, lets jut say icon corruption happens with certain file types.
