Please use this thread for IconPackager v4.0 Support Issues
Published on May 13, 2008 By Zargon In IconPackager

All,

With IconPackager v4.0 being released tomorrow, I am creating this thread to house support for the newly released product.

At this time there are no known issues for either 32-bit or 64-bit.

For all of those who have reported and tested issues on 64-bit we thank you for your time and support.

Regards,

Zargon

I've got up to 3.99.149 on SDC using SP3 even after updating XML and switching servers.
on May 15, 2008

I downloaded it through SDC but 2 hours later i get another version on it : 3.20.162

We had small crossing of the streams on Impulse yesterday.  That has all been ironed out and you should only see the new download if you are:

1) An existing Object Desktop subscriber

2) You bought IconPackger 3.x in the last year (we are giving free upgrades to those who purchased 3.x since February 1st, 2007)

Customers who purchaed IconPackager 3.x before February 1st, 2007 can upgrade for a special price of $9.95.

IconPackager 4 is only being delivered through Impulse or the standalone installer.  You can download Impulse from this page:

http://www.impulsedriven.com/about.asp

Or download it from the link on your registrations page.

Will it ever show on SDC?

Is this the end of new releases on SDC?

Ehm.. I downloaded Impulse, and on the updates tab it shows Iconpackager as installed version: 3.20.163, and available version: 4.00.163, but I can't update it. It won't show on my registrations page either, all it shows is the 3.20 link.

OMG! I have no problems to report....sorry!

New IP v4.00.159 not skinned drivers icon
OS XP service pack3

Same problem with build 4.00.160 under Windows XP SP3 32-bits > CD-rom icon
Edit: Unable to reproduce this problem with build 4.00.160 under Windows Vista SP1 32-bits except for 'Network Location' icon and 'Zip drive' icon.

Not fixed under Windows XP SP3 and latest build > 4.00.163.

+ problematic activation process under XP.

Icon Packager 4 went up on SDC later this afternoon. If you do not see the update be sure you have restarted SDC. If you still do not see the update in versions click on Tools > Settings > Internet > Refreseh XML Data and you should be all set!

But when I update through SDC I' m asked to register IP 4 , where do I find my serial, someone tried OD serial and that didnt work.
on May 16, 2008
II am using Vista 64 bit, and when I go to settings, in the Windows Settings, I can't change the size of my icons from 32 pixels. The dialog box is greyed out.
on May 16, 2008
Ok so, I updated the XML in SDC and now it shows the update but it says I have to register it first. My IP3 reg number is not valid, so what should I do?

V 4.00.163 seems to be working here apart Language which is not correctly applied neither than the real path where packages may be defined ... (IP goes correctly to the defined path but when a package is applied it seems to be stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Stardock\IconPackager), and still can't find how to save as a new package after recoloring one ...

N.B: XP SP3 french
