"... saving current desktop displays a message saying you cannot save a my colours theme even though the theme i am using is not my colours."

Same problem

Vista Home Premium SP1. Experience factor 3.4 (whatever that's called)

If you have used My Colors, and then changed your desktop, it will still show as My Colors. You have to go into MC and click on the Windows XP Desktop(which reverts everything you have done to make your cool desktop) back. Yeah, its a pain in the ass, but how long does it really take to put everything to rights, and then save in TM???? Oh, wait, I don't have that much on my dt....sorry

The package was created using only skins that were downloaded. Nothing on my HD.

I verified that none of the components were on my PC and tried to apply the theme. (available on request via email). I was prompted to download the skins . . and then nothing.

Noted by us and developer.  We will be fixing.

Here are a few issues I notice after trying Theme Manager 3 beta

1: Very slow to apply themes. MyColors applies them much faster.

2: Will not apply gadgets when appling a theme.

3: Icons on my system tray disappear after appling a theme. Example: Windows messenger icon, and my Nod32 icon.

Other than that seems to have much potential.

Nimbin, specifically what theme/suite are you adding to the theme list which when closed and reopened is not displayed?

neophil78,

What is being listed under the Icons tab? The default path for icon is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\IconPackager   however if you have a custom path set then the custom path will be used.

Does it handle localization?  I believe neophil is French

A said and you're right, under Icon Tabs is listed IcconPackages stored in :\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\IconPackager.

I get a custom path defined in IconPackager Software and it is not used (if it was i didn't talk about it

A new build has been published to BETA that resolves the following items:

Theme Manager 3.0 BETA Update
-------------------------------------------
-Added support for CursorXP theme too.
-Adding custom paths to the Wallpapers section fixed.
-Added additional code to close the application correctly on exit.
-Fixed the downloading of suite file contents on themes that contain URL downloads.
-Fixed prompt on saving current desktop about a My Colors suite being applied.

1: Very slow to apply themes. MyColors applies them much faster.

This is because we have implemented a new way to apply the icons that is more reliable.  The previous way would leave some icons "behind" so to speak (they would not be updated to the currently applied theme).  The new way applies the icons 100% of the time.  The tradeoff is that it takes a bit longer.

Vista Home premium SP1 32-bit

For some reason with the newest Beta update, ThemeManager will not apply windowBlinds nor Gadgets.

When I open WindowBlinds, Blinds i tried to apply with ThemeManager are not on the list. Two skins...Encounter and Gloss Burgundy failed to apply with ThemeManager as these were the only ones I tried with the new build. I did not recently have them installed.

I have reverted back to 2.50. I have no problem applying the above mentioned through MyColors

that sort of program can't afford any errors or your windows user will be screwed it happened to me once so a BETA might not be something i'm confident in

Theme manager still does not close correctly.

I still have to end the process with task manager

- Not resolved with latest beta (I'm still with IconPackager V3, but i don't think it cares - my custom path for iconpackages is E:\Stardock\Object Desktop\IconPackager\Thèmes XP)

- When trying to look in "Applications\Cursors" tab, i'm waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting ... and after X hours still waiting   and nothing is displayed. (same for "Applications/Logons"

under XP SP3

We don't see that here.  Can you please provide more specifics about what you are doing inside of Theme Manager.
