We don't get to pick the free ones.  Stardock will make them available.  Quest is outside of of the subscription.  It's there for everyone just "because".

Fair enough, just as long as I don't get any of the state-sider ones (University/sports teams/etc), and none of the ones I've already been buying

BTW, for those who originally got the original Magic theme given to them free for extending their subscription, do they get that updated to the MyColors version of it?

I believe that, like Quest, the themes would be more along the "Inspired" line and that they would be new themes (thus you could not have bought them)..

What theme (suite) are you trying to apply?Last question, are you talking about MyColors Theme Manager or (for lack of a better word) "classic" TM?

Zubaz: I was trying to load Transilvania, but it's just as easy to d/l it again from WinCustomize, just a pain. Oh, and I'm refering to classic TM, haven't seen anything worth while in MyColors... but it is young. Will just have to remember to apply all the other changes manually. Silly question... will Clssic themes ever be compatable with New coke er themes?
on Apr 16, 2008
I believe they will be separate.  ThemeManager for folks like us who use suites and MyColors for them-there fancy themes.

Hi,

OS=XPSP2

Downloaded and Registered Object Desktop Ultimate (upgrade from Stand Alone WB6.? & SS6.0)

Forced to use Impulse to download (pretty buggy program, so far, IMO).

Downloaded all OD programs then updated all, I like SD Central a lot better.

Object Sweeper would not download - message says "not available"
Object Desktop Launchpad downloads fine but will not run. Windows Error Message pops up re: Send to Microsoft ... bla, bla.

Everything else seems to work but not these two above.
Any ideas?
I disabled my ZApro firewall to be sure but OD Launchpad still will not open.

I've got an email into support but I assume that's going to take a good while to get a response there. Sure could use some help on getting an otherwise nice program(s) working.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

UPDATE: Still same situation, tried using CCleaner, 'puter's running great, no other probs.
I used SmartException to try to find the problem as shown below.

Good bug report.  Now we wait.

In regards to Object sweeper . . It was good technology back in the day but if you are using ccleaner you are more than covered.

Thanks Zubaz,

I just found that "SmartException" program and as you probably know it's a part of the OD Ultimate package ... and what a package it is!

Just for good measure I ran "SFC /scannow" to be sure of my system's integrety.
Everything checks out fine and all system files are intact and verified with i386 files.
This should make tracking down any problems a little easier, I hope.

I assume the Object Desktop Launcher is for any program files or groups of executables.

There's soooo much else in Obj Desktop that I probably won't miss it (OD Launcher) before support gets back to me.
If ya ask me, I think this team does an amazing job of working such a massive amount of data and programing and keeping it all up-to-date ... I'm overwhelmed just trying it out.

I appreciate your response, I'll be around with lots of questions when I figure out what to ask ...

If you are using impulse or SDC to launch your SD apps you aren't missing that much . .it really is just a simplified launcher (built with DesktopX I think).

There are meaty-er apps to sink your teeth into.

Cheers and welcome!

Yes, I'm using SDC now and it works fine; as you mentioned previously I have CCleaner that will work fine for what Sweeper does so I'm set. Now all I need is a new hard drive for all the files that I've downloaded compliments of WinCustomize. It will be great when I get some time to work and learn these programs. I've always been one to tweak things so I think a whole new world has opened up to me here. Thanks again for the info. and the welcome Zubaz

I thought they were supposed to be released sometime the following week? But Impulse hasn't released those updates....

CADesign,

Does ODNT Launchpad work for you now?  Please install it through Impulse and let us know.  If not, can you tell me what programs you have installed?  We updated ODNT Launchpad for ODNT 2008, so it may be something we need to fix in the application itself, not Impulse.

Thanks.

Kirk

I thought they were supposed to be released sometime the following week? But Impulse hasn't released those updates....

What updates are you referring to?

on Apr 21, 2008
The IP and WB ones they stated were coming for users with x64 versions XP and Vista....

Users of x64 versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista may experience issues with IconPackager 3.99.  Please upgrade to IconPackager 4.00 once the update is published later next week on Impulse before reporting any issues.
Users of x64 versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista may experience issues with WindowBlinds 6.03.  Please upgrade to WindowBlinds 6.03b once the update is published later next week on Impulse before reporting any issues.

Hi Zargon0225,

I seem to be having a ton of trouble from DxaxHost.dll programs.
I still can't launch ODNT Launchpad ...
... my guess is that they are all related.
I am also can't launch Natural Desktop and am having some problems with DesktopX.

These all have DxaxHost.dll

DesktopX will only launch if I go to directly to the folder and lauch it by double clicking it from there. (Will not launch/ run from SDC or Impulse.

I just installed/ran UniBlue Registry Booster which did find some registry errors that CCleaner didn't find but it didn't seem to make any difference with the above programs.

If you can, perhaps you could look into DxaxHost.dll to see if there is a later version.
I have tried using DXAXHOST.dll version 3.5.0.0 with Natural Desktop and I got it to almost run one time ... but not quite. I also tried running my XP SP2 in Compatibility modes but that didn't seem to solve it either.

Thanks for the follow-up!
I suspect we'll get it figured out one of these days.
I really like Stardock's Support and Programs, I know they are worth the wait if there are any bugs to work out.

Thanks,

Dave
