I just downloaded the free version of Deskscapes, there are a few sample animated desktops included. There is a minor problem though. All samples work just fine (Grassy field, Waterdream), but the Watercolor dream just doesn't start properly. No errors, it just freezes immediately (that's what it looks like) and shows nothing but a blue colored background.

I have version 2.0, it won't let me update to 2.5.

The free version of Deskscapes will conflict with the full version. Make sure that you uninstall, restart the machine, reinstall only the full version, then restart again to clear the issue.

Is there no 2.0 for Vista Ultimate?

No, there is no need. 2.0 did not add new features for Vista Ultimate, nor did 2.5.

If you purchase Deskscapes or have the full version available to you and run it on Ultimate it will display 2.0 but it will be the same as the free Ultimate only 1.2 version.

I had to reset my password. Ticket is open, no solution as of yet.

I only found 1 ticket through your email address listed here and it was back in Aug. can you send me the ticket number so I can follow up with your standing situation?

I am refering to the one you referanced above, the GAM-976140 one.

A reply was sent shortly after. I'll resend it just to be sure.

Tetsuonabiki: Are you on 64 bit Vista?

If so you need a 64 bit decoder not a 32 bit one.

This really isn't a Stardock issue; thier app uses what you have.

Most codecs are "for fee".  The "free" ones are usually "reverse engineered" and may have license issues.  Stardock really can't point you to one of the free ones, can it?

I'm experiencing the same issue (frozen blue Watercolor dream) with version 2.50.069.

VCheez, please let us know how your fix worked out. I'm having the same exact problem and I've restarted the desktop manager task a couple times already.

Hello, Descapes always crashes my PC when I shutdown or restart. Deskscapes usually crashes my PC when I log off or change the wallpaper to a regular .jpg or solid color. Is there a good solution? Thanks

Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Intel Core Quad Q9300 @2.5ghz, 8 Gig RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4650 with dual monitors. Windows & Videocard is fully updated.

Hey I bought Deskscapes and it downloaded through impulse but apparently I had the demo installed too. It would not uninstall through Impulse (It would say it was and then 3 seconds later say "Installed") So i had to kill explorer (it had one of the dll's in the Deskscapes folder loaded) and then delete the deskscapes folder. Now I cant get Impulse to redownload it even though I put the key in and it accepted it.
